Connoquenessing Township will be exploring new options with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection after the rejection of their sewer plan.
The DEP did not approve the township’s Act 537 Sewage Plan, citing the monthly cost and not meeting estimated capacity for needs.
A meeting has been set between Connoquenessing and PA American water next week. There will also be a meeting with the DEP later this month.
The meeting will focus on preliminary plans on what may work in the future, but nothing would be finalized at either meeting.
The township also has two new Supervisors after November’s election but according to a township official, the two new members have been active in meetings and are fully aware the current situation.
