Construction on a new addition to the Prospect Fire Department is expected to begin next month.
Fire officials say they plan to add to the current building that will create larger bays for their apparatus, along with other safety features.
The first phase of construction is expected to begin in mid-November, with the addition complete by the spring of next year.
The Prospect-Franklin Township Volunteer Fire Department is also seeking donations from the community for the new fire station addition.
Officials also say the historic fire station that was originally built in 1912 will remain.
