Work is officially underway on the elementary school expansion project in the Mars Area School District.
A groundbreaking ceremony was held late last week to celebrate the new project.
The project will see the school add a new three-story classroom wing, a new cafeteria, and an expanded STEAM classroom.
The building will also have a new pick-up/drop off location and additional parking.
The $21.4 million project was initially slated to begin last year, however all of the bids came in higher than expected.
