A new contract for printers, copiers, and other office software inside the county government center was delayed at yesterday’s public meeting.
Commissioners voted 2-1 to halt negotiations on a new five-year contract with Toshiba to take over the county’s printers and other various office equipment.
IT personnel and commissioners say there were a number of problems with their current provider Xerox, prompting the county to look for a new service provider.
Commissioners Leslie Osche and Kim Geyer say they want to further explore other proposals, possibly with local options; Commissioner Kevin Boozel voted to move forward with Toshiba.
Either way, the county solicitor said time is of the essence as the current deal expires at the end of January.
