Another slew of assessment appeals will have an impact on both the county and local school districts.
The county approved settlements with MSA, Walmart, and Herr-Voss in the Seneca Valley School District. They also reached agreements with Grandview and Stone Crest developments in Slippery Rock.
This is the latest in what have been a number of assessment appeals for the county.
Officials say part of the issue is that fair market values are derived from 1969 values—which was the last time reassessment was done in the county.
Commissioners note the process is very complex, but add that the constant appeals by businesses and other property owners is having an impact on the county, local municipalities, and school districts.
