
A number of parks will be moving forward with projects after receiving county funding.
Each year the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department awards grant funding for park projects. This year 12 different municipalities were awarded grants.
Municipalities receiving grants were:
- Adams Township: Signage and a kiosk at their park
- Bruin Borough: Picnic tables and new basketball backboards
- Butler Township: New soccer/football goals at the new turf fields
- Clay Township: Purchase ADA tables
- Chicora Borough: New backboards for basketball court
- Cranberry Township: New basketball equipment for court
- East Butler: Updates to the baseball fields
- Eau Claire: New wood fiber to playground areas
- Evans City: New ADA sidewalk, various park updates
- Harmony: Updates to Swampoodle Park
- Jefferson Township: Installing new electrical box
- Penn Township: New concrete pad at Harcrest Park
- Slippery Rock: Gravel removal at playgrounds
