Butler County is projecting an increase in their general budget for next year but there are no planned tax increases.
The proposed general fund budget is just over $78 million, which is a five percent increase from last year.
County officials say the increase is mainly due to new labor contracts and higher wages.
The total budget is set for $262 million—which is up nearly $18 million from 2023. Commissioners say that is mainly due to money set aside for municipalities to draw down for this year.
The budget is up for public review and will be voted on during the December public meeting.
