Butler County will be turning to the fund balance to meet a balanced budget for 2025.
County finance officials say they will need to use about $3.5 to $4 million from the fund balance to close the books on 2025.
The budget set aside $7.8 million for their 2025 fund balance, which is a financial cushion for the county to use for unforeseen costs.
The county did collect $54.6 million in property tax revenue, which is almost a 100 percent collection rate.
