A new position could soon be created by Butler County that would help with the coordination of elections.
Earlier this week, the county’s salary board discussed the creation of a poll worker and precinct coordinator. Commissioners say this position would help get people to stay involved if they’ve been a part of Election Day operations in the past.
The position would also help to create a bullpen of people who could serve at precincts at the last second during elections.
County officials say the recent changes to election law have created additional work for the current staff, making a new position like this necessary.
