Tax collections for Butler County are moving at a steady pace.
Finance officials with the county say they’ve received 96 percent of tax collections for this year—which is slightly ahead of last year’s pace.
Overall, the budget is trending toward the initial projections that were outlined at the beginning of the year.
Officials say they are most likely going to have to dip into the fund balance to cover the budget. If everything stays on track, it’s expected that they’ll pull about $3.5 million at year’s end.
The fund balance is a carryover of funds that are utilized as a “rainy day” fund.
