Butler County is raising fees that are used in the planning process.
The fees are used in a variety of applications related to subdivision and land development.
County leaders say the fees generate about $40,000 per year currently, and would reach about $70,000 under the new fee structure.
The fees are going up after the county found that they were spending approximately $150,000 of salary time on processing the application fees.
The county also streamlined the application forms to make them clearer and easier to understand.
