Butler County is purchasing a former church hall in Evans City.
The county commissioners approved an agreement with the Diocese of Pittsburgh that would purchase the former St. Mattias church hall on East Main Street for $750,000.
Commissioners say the building will continue to house the Evans City Senior Center, but it will also include the Evans City Magistrate Office and a civic training center.
Officials say the current parking situation at the magistrate office on Main Street can be a challenge.
There is no timeline on when the office will move.
