A new agreement will give the state Department of Corrections the ability to house parole offenders in the Butler County Prison for a time.
County commissioners approved the agreement last week. Officials say the offenders typically are isolated from other inmates and stay just one night at the jail, before being moved to their next location.
The county does have the ability to refuse inmates; they will also receive $75 per day according to the agreement.
