Butler County has reached an agreement with the Clearview Mall to serve as a mass vaccination site when the time comes.
County Commissioner Kim Geyer said that while it’s unknown when Butler County will get to host a vaccine clinic, the preparations are underway for the mall to serve as that location.
“Everything is contingent upon vaccine, if and when we receive that. But [the mall] is going to be available and we are going to absolutely utilize the facility. And then hopefully the hospital simultaneously be able to continue to do what they’ve been doing,” Geyer said.
Geyer reiterated that she doesn’t know when a vaccine clinic could come to Butler, but the county wants to be prepared.
“We don’t have a timeline yet. We were just setting up all the facilities and logistics so that when we’re going back to the state we can say ‘We’ve got a site available and we’re ready to go,” Geyer said.
The lease agreement with the Clearview Mall is for 90 days at $12,500 per month.
