The district magistrate’s office in Evans City will soon be moving locations.
Butler County is in the process of closing on the former St. Matthias Church Hall, which is on Main Street in Evans City.
Commissioners say the building will continue to house the Evans City senior center, but also the district magistrate office. It will also serve as a potential location to train poll workers and other county events.
The county is purchasing the building from the Diocese of Pittsburgh for $750,000.
The county currently leases the district magistrate’s office in Evans City, which is at the intersection of Main and Washington Streets.
