Butler County will be making contributions to local volunteer fire companies and EMS agencies before the end of the year.
County commissioners say first responders have been hit hard financially because of the pandemic, which has limited the fundraising events they can do.
Commissioners hope to award the VFDs with around $10,000 in funding, and EMS agencies with $15,000.
