Butler County is using part of its fund balance to help cover this year’s budget.
County finance officials say they are using about $3.5 million out of the fund balance to hit a balanced budget for 2025.
There was just over $7.8 million in the fund balance to start the year.
The latest financial report from Butler County also saw a high tax collection rate. Officials say 98.6 percent of county residents have paid their taxes, which works out to about $53.4 million.
The county is also in the process of still receiving all of its state funding that was delayed due to the budget impasse.
