The new contract between Butler County and workers in the SEIU Local 668 chapter is now official.
The contract runs retroactively from this January through December 2027.
According to officials, the new contract eliminates a tiered-wage system that union leaders say “prevented newer employees from making equal wages with their coworkers doing the same job.”
The deal also includes yearly pay increases for all workers along with health insurance through the four year agreement.
Over 300 workers for the county government had threatened to strike if the new deal was not reached last week.
