There’s been a spike in COVID cases over the past seven days in Butler County.
After seeing a sustained drop in cases for the past couple of weeks, the Department of Health says there has been over 1,100 new cases since last Friday.
There has also been 10 additional deaths in the past seven days, bringing the countywide death toll to 536.
However, local hospitalizations have been trending downward. As of yesterday morning, Butler Memorial Hospital was treating 34 patients for the coronavirus, with four in the ICU.
But statewide hospitalizations have gone up. There are now more than 3,000 people receiving treatment for COVID-19 in Pennsylvania.
