The number of COVID cases went down this past week in Butler County, but hospitalizations still remain at high levels locally.
There were 785 new cases of COVID over the past seven days, that’s down about 200 compared to last week.
Butler Memorial Hospital meanwhile is treating 59 patients for the coronavirus, with 11 in the ICU. The hospital also reported five additional deaths to the Department of Health this week.
Butler County’s COVID death toll also rose this week to 550.
Statewide hospitalizations are also on the rise, with nearly 4,000 people being treated for COVID. That’s up about 500 people compared to last week.
