A local Fire Company will receive grant money to support fire safety education.
The Friends of the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company has been awarded $11,000 by the NiSource Foundation and Columbia Gas.
A portion of the funds have been used to pay for a new fire extinguisher simulator to train community members of all ages about the proper use of this crucial fire control tool.
The rest of the money will be used to purchase additional smoke detectors to support the efforts of the Fire Safety Education team to supply these devices to those who need them.
