Police have placed a Cranberry man in prison after it’s alleged he crashed his vehicle while drunk and then assaulted a woman.
Cranberry Township Police were called early Sunday morning to an apartment complex located on Route 19. When they arrived the alleged victim was bruised and bleeding. Police spoke with her and another victim who saw the assault.
The victim told police 59-year-old Mark Reisert crashed into her car. When she confronted him about the crash, Reisert allegedly punched and choked her to the ground.
Police say the witness went outside and hit Reisert to get him off the woman. Reisert also allegedly took out a knife during the incident, but the witness was able to knock it away.
Reisert then fled to a neighbor’s bathroom where he was eventually taken into custody.
Reisert was placed in the Butler County Prison on $50,000 bail. He’s been charged with several traffic offenses, along with aggravated assault and strangulation.
