Cranberry Township has been awarded a state grant to improve local traffic conditions.
The township will receive approximately $300,000 in grants through the PennDOT Automated Red Light Enforcement program.
The money will be used for the installation of a new warranted traffic signal at the intersection of Route 19 and Progress Avenue.
A total of 22 municipalities across the state received a combined nearly $13 million to fund 28 safety projects. Grant funding is received from red light violation fines with a goal of improving regional safety.
