Cranberry Township will begin celebration of a traditional Indian holiday at the tomorrow night.
Deepavali otherwise known as Diwali or The Festival of Lights is a five-day celebration that symbolizes light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil.
The celebration will begin at 6 p.m. at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center Square and is being hosted by the Cranberry Township Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity Advisory.
Community members will help build a Rangoli which is a traditional Indian art made of rice flour, sand, flowers, and petals. The Rangoli is created to welcome Goddess Lakshmi and bring good luck in the Hindu, Sikh, and Jain religion.
Light snacks will be served.
