Cranberry Township officials have approved a move that will allow a new internet network alternative for residents.
Last week the Supervisors entered into a franchise agreement with Comcast that will permit the provider to offer residential services to more than 8,000 homes.
Comcast began offering services to Cranberry Township businesses in 2020 and has been working to expand their broadband network.
Comcast expects to add their first new residential customers in Cranberry Township later this summer.
