Cranberry Township residents will see a small tax increase next year in order to support recreational opportunities.
Although the General Fund tax millage will not increase, Township Supervisors have decided to create a Recreational Investment Fund supported by a new 2.5 mil levy.
In exchange for less than $60 per year, the average Cranberry household will be able to enjoy recreation investments including improvements to the baseball and soccer turf fields to expand capacity, upgrades to equipment, irrigation, and planting at Powell Farm, solar lighting installed at the UPMC Passavant Sportsplex at Graham Park, two new multipurpose recreation fields at Community Park North, and the installation of fitness courts at Graham Park.
The total Cranberry Township budget for 2026 will be nearly $110 million, an increase of about 9 million compared to this year. Benefits include $1 million more in paving than spent this year, improvements at the Brandt Drive intersection to improve safety and mobility, upgrades to the Brush Creek Water Pollution Control Facility’s solids handling process, and Phase 1 of the Route 19 Waterline Replacement Project.
The budget is now available for public review either online or at the Cranberry Library and Customer Service Center. The Board is expected to consider final approval at its meeting on December 11th.
