A group of local first responders will remember the 22nd anniversary of the attacks of September 11th this week with a special gathering.
The Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company will hang a large American flag from a ladder truck at the Route 19 station from sunrise to sunset on Monday. The flag will then be retired by a local Scout Troop.
Cranberry’s Assistant Chief John Pristas will play “Taps” in front of the memorial outside of the station six different times between 8:46 a.m. and 10:28 a.m. to mark significant events during the attacks. The Freedom Riders and VFW Post 879 will be in attendance.
More information about this memorial can be found on the website of the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company.
