Traffic was backed up on a busy Middlesex Township road Tuesday afternoon as a result of a multiple vehicle accident.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center around 2:30 p.m. for a crash near the intersection of Route 228 West and Route 8 South.
Crews from Middlesex and Quality EMS were among those arriving on the scene to find three vehicles involved and three children in need of evaluation.
The extent of injuries is unknown at this time as is the cause of the crash. Motorists can expect traffic delays in the area until the scene has been cleared.
