
Multiple fire departments were called out to battle a fire at a Marion Township residence Thursday afternoon.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center shortly before 5 p.m. for a house on fire in the 2200 block of West Sunbury Road, which is in Boyers.
West Sunbury Fire Department was joined by those from North Washington, Marion Township, Eau Claire, Slippery Rock, Unionville, and Harrisville at this incident.
Crews arrived on scene and found heavy smoke and flames coming from inside the home. The fire was under control after about a half hour but crews remained on the scene for an overhaul.
The cause of the blaze is unknown at this time. The Red Cross has been notified to assist one adult male and one adult female.
