The death of two teens that happened 21 years ago this week still remains one of Butler County’s biggest mysteries.
It was back on July 17, 2002 when Seneca Valley High School students Scott Fosnaught and Shawn Baur were found lying on the side of Cashdollar Road in Forward Township.
Fosnaught was pronounced dead at the scene; Baur would die after being flown to an area hospital.
Since that time, there has been no suspects identified in the case. It’s also not clear if it was an accident or if the boys were targeted.
State police consider this an open investigation and ask that if anyone has information that they should call the Butler barracks.
The families of Fosnaught and Baur are offering a $25,000 reward for information that would lead to an arrest and conviction.
