Bryson DeChambeau won his first major golf event when he won the U.S. Open Sunday at Winged Foot Golf Club in New York. He topped third-round leader Matthew Wolff by six strokes with a 6-under four-day total of 274. It was the lowest score in six Open events at Winged Foot. He was the only golfer under par.
Jim Furyk joined Arnold Palmer and Bruce Fleisher as the only players to win their first two PGA Tour Champions starts – when he held off Jerry Kelly with a birdie on the first playoff hole Sunday at the Pure Insurance Championship at Pebble Beach, California.
