State and local Democratic officials and candidates are responding to rallies by President Donald Trump in Pennsylvania this weekend.
Democrat candidate Kristy Gnibus is running against Republican Congressman Mike Kelly in the race for the 16th Congressional District.
“Trump has been in Pennsylvania more than most and he’s coming back and he’ll be here in Western Pennsylvania twice in less than two weeks and that says something. That says that Pennsylvania matters and it says that this district matters.”
According to Democrat Attorney General Josh Shapiro, it may take some time to get all lawfully submitted ballots counted so counties are encouraged to begin the process with mail-in ballots on Election Day.
“The Department of State and Governor Wolf have offered resources to counties who are under resourced and cited that as a reason why they couldn’t begin a count early. The only accurate count is the one where every single eligible vote is included and that may take a little bit of time.”
At least seven counties in Pennsylvania have said that they plan to wait until Wednesday the 4th to start taking mail-in ballots out of envelopes and add those numbers into official counts which could impact a shift in election results.
