Demolition is set for an historic building in Butler City after a devastating fire over the weekend.
Multiple fire departments were called out to the former Bantam Jeep Building in Lyndora around 1:00 Sunday morning for a three-alarm fire.
Flames were intense and could be seen ripping through the building. It led to the roof collapsing, which made it difficult for firefighters.
Crews were on scene for hours trying to knock down the flames. Eventually, the fire was under control just before sunrise.
One firefighter suffered minor injuries and was treated on-scene.
Butler City Bureau Fire Chief Chris Switala said the remaining parts of the building would need to be demolished.
The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
The Bantam Jeep Building was the birthplace of the Jeep, serving as the original factory during World War II.
