A new Pennsylvania of Department of Environmental Protection initiative looks to help lower energy costs by helping finance energy efficiency upgrades.
The Keystone Energy Efficiency Program (KEEP) Home Energy Loan program will allow Pennsylvanians to apply for a loan starting at $2,500 up to $25,000.
The loan is a simple-interest, longer-term, and fixed rate installment loan that will not put a lien on the borrower’s home, no fees, and no penalties to the borrower for early repayment.
All homeowners can apply for a primary residence or secondary home. The interest rate and monthly payment are locked in for the full term of the loan up to 10 years.
