The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental protection issued several warnings to an oil and gas company in Butler County.
After Lola Energy Petroco LLC., located in Allegheny Township, reported around 4,200 gallons of contaminated water was released, the DEP completed an inspected the incident.
According to the DEP, the contaminated water was released around 10 storage tanks. Lola Energy said the reason for the release was a rotted-out fitting that was replaced. A mechanical assessment of all the other fittings were completed and clean up will continue.
Lola Energy has 10 days to submit a written response that includes, what has to be done, what will be done to achieve compliance, explanation on what happened, and a schedule for when the facility will in compliance.
