The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protections will be opening bids later this month to clean and plug gas wells in Butler County.
The DEP is looking to have 15 orphan gas wells in Lancaster, Forward, and Connoquenessing Townships cleaned out and plugged. The depth of the wells can range from over 1,000 to 3,5000 feet.
The biding process will officially be opened on October 30 at 2 p.m. but documents related to the bid are available by going to BidExpress.com.
A mandatory prebid conference is scheduled for October 15 at 9 a.m. at Moraine State Park.
