There is still time for kids in first through sixth grades to enter a statewide art contest.
The PA Departments of Health, Education, Environmental Protection, and Conservation and Natural Resources are holding a video or poster contest about Lyme Disease.
The theme is “How to Prevent a Tick Bite” with a goal of raising awareness about this disease since ticks are very common across the state. Projects could focus on responsible care where ticks are found or precautions available to deter bites like covering exposed skin and using EPA-approved insect repellent.
The deadline for entries is a week from today (Friday, March 17th) with winners notified in May by mail and receiving an invitation to an award ceremony in Harrisburg. More information can be found on the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s website.
