The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue wrapped up 2025 with tax collections totaling about $5 billion last month.
Revenue from sales tax in December totaled $1.3 billion while personal income tax was $1.6 billion for the month.
The Motor License Fund received over $230 million for the month from gas and diesel taxes, as well as other license, fine, and fee revenues.
This collection data includes the first comparison against anticipated amounts because the official estimate for the 2025-26 fiscal year was certified with the state budget in November. Collections were about 5% more than anticipated or about $240 million over estimate.
