Butler City Police have released more information about a robbery involving shots fired at a downtown business last weekend.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Cheap Tobacco Outlet on Pillow Street a person wearing a full Halloween mask approached the store on foot with a blue and black backpack.
The robber then pulled out a black pistol and fired a 9 millimeter warning shot into the wall. Surveillance reveals that the suspect fled a short distance on foot after the robbery before getting into the rear drivers side of a waiting dark grey or black mid-size SUV with black wheels.
The suspect is described as about 5 feet 9 inches tall with a stocky build. Clerks told police that the skin behind the eye holes of the mask and at the wrists of the gloves appeared to be black. The person was wearing light colored sweat pants and a hoodie that were likely removed immediately following the robbery.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact Detective Lieutenant Chad Rensel of the Butler City Police Department.
