The obligation for Catholics to attend mass on Sundays and holy days resumes later next month.
Bishop David Zubik and other diocesan leaders in Pennsylvania say August 15th is the date for Catholics to return to mass.
Now, the Bishop added that if people still don’t feel safe in large crowds, they are exempt from the rule.
The Diocese of Pittsburgh originally lifted the obligation in March 2020 as the coronavirus pandemic began.
