Voters will head to the polls Tuesday to cast their ballot for local and statewide races.
All county row offices will be on the ballot, but only one features a challenger to the incumbent.
In the race for District Attorney, Republican Rich Goldinger is seeking another four-year term. His challenger is Independent candidate Jennifer Gilliland Vanasdale.
Goldinger has been district attorney since 2008 and cites Butler’s low crime rate as a reason he is running for re-election.
“I want to be in a position where Butler County is a safe county and I think we’ve been very successful in doing that,” Goldinger said.
Gilliland Vanasdale is a local attorney and she believes it is time for a change in the district attorney seat.
“We really need someone in there who wants to work hard; that wants to protect all the community,” Gilliland Vanasdale said. “We need someone who is willing to organize an effective office that will actually try cases to get justice.”
