Monday is the first day that hunters can purchase their license.
It’s a big change though from previous years in how hunters will be buying their licenses. What used to be done by mail, can now be done in-person or online.
County Treasurer Diane Marburger says the online system begins at 8 a.m.
“If someone is going to do this online, they can sit at their computer, on their phone, or wherever and come 8 a.m. if they have their customer identification number and know their birth date, they can go online and order their hunting license,” Marburger said.
Marburger says you can also buy the license in-person at a sporting goods store, gun shop, or even in her office. But, she says expect a wait time.
“No matter where you go, if you go on that very first day, you’re going to be in a queue or in a line. Whether that’s online or physically standing somewhere, you’re going to be waiting for your license,” Marburger said.
Online purchases can be made through the Game Commission’s website.
