The U.S. Department of Justice is filing a lawsuit against a Cranberry rental company for their policy on emotional support animals.
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports that the DOJ sued Perry Homes late last week saying they violated the Fair Housing Act by not allowing tenants to have disability-related emotional support animals.
According to the report, Perry Homes only allowed dogs that were specifically trained service animals.
The DOJ’s suit asks a judge to rule that Perry Homes is violating the act and to grant an injunction that would disallow this practice.
