Donegal Township has passed a new ordinance due to the growing rate of solar energy farms.
After reports from concerned residents, and speaking with the township solicitor, the Board of Supervisors decided to approval a Solar Ordinance.
The new ordinance will require that property owners are responsible for upkeep of property, the panels be at least 250 feet from property lines and 50 feet off the road, and the township can take enforcement actions.
The ordinance passed with unanimous support by supervisors.
