A large tree fell onto a busy road just north of the city of Butler Thursday evening causing traffic delays and power outages for some residents.
The call came into the Butler County 911 Center around 6:30 p.m. for a fallen tree that brought wires down onto North Main Street hill.
Crews from Butler City and Butler Township responded to find a big tree possibly from North Cemetery had fallen partially onto Route 8 North southbound. Traffic had to limited to one lane for some time in order to allow for cleanup and restoration of the lines.
At one point, over 200 residents were without power according to First Energy with electricity restored later Thursday evening.
