The downtown Butler post office now has an official new name.
President Joe Biden officially signed the bill earlier this week to rename the structure as the “Andrew Gomer Williams Post Office Building”.
Congressman Mike Kelly’s office announced the lawmaker’s thanks for those who have supported and helped in this effort to provide recognition for the local Civil War veteran and hero Williams.
This process began with Kelly proposing a name change in April before the measure passed the US House and Senate with unanimous consent.
