The driver of a semi-truck in a deadly crash has pled guilty and was sentenced in Butler County yesterday morning.
In November 2021, 33-year-old Karandeep Singh of Canada was behind the wheel of a truck going under 20 miles per hour on I-79. A School bus behind him was going 67 miles-per-hour before it crashed head on killing two people.
Two years after the crash Singh was charged with six felonies including homicide by vehicle, several counts of aggravated assault, and several other charges.
Yesterday he pled guilty to reckless driving, involuntary manslaughter, and recklessly endangering another person.
Singh was given three to six months of confinement but was paroled at sentencing, he will also serve 66 months of probation, and pay $473 in restitution and court fees.
Singh has been held in the Butler County Prison since February 2023 and the Commonwealth will not oppose the transfer of his supervision.
