History was made for Butler High School – as eight members of the Butler high school bowling teams have qualified for the Pennsylvania Western Regionals in March. Six of the Butler Girls have qualified and two members of the boys team. The six girls had never been accomplished for the league championships — and now the regional event.
Harley Kriess, Reegan Malis, Rachael Blose and Madison Weiland qualified during the WPIBL Girls Singles Championships Thursday at Wildlife Lanes in Lower Burrell. Kriess led the Golden Tornado Girls with a 521 series and high game of 202, which was good for 15th overall. Shannon Small of Plum won the overall championship.
Kaleah Nelson of Seneca Valley also qualified for the Regional Singles along with Julia Cummings of Freeport.
The Pennsylvania Western Regional Singles Championships will be held Friday, March 6th at North Versailles Bowl.
Both Butler teams have also qualified for the Regional Team Championships that Saturday.
