A bill that aims to help EMS providers when responding to overdoses has been signed by the governor.
In 2023, State Police filed a report that recommended EMS providers be added to the Overdose Information Network (ODIN). By adding the providers who handle 80 percent of overdoes, supporters say it will better help track, map, and responds to overdose incidents.
The bill didn’t see a single no vote on its way to Governor Josh Shapiro’s desk.
The bill will become law in early September.
