Due to the increased use of energy the northeast energy grid operator PJM has issued a maximum generation alert.
No action is required by customers; the alert is made to notify neighboring systems.
Transmission/generator owners are also alerted to decide if maintenance or testing can be deferred or canceled during peak loads.
A similar alert was issued from June 23 to 25 of this year when peak loads reached record highs in 14 years.
Peak forecasts for this warning keep expectations under those peak highs.
